Are you in the process of trying to purchase a home or a car? Are you tired of getting approved for credit cards with extremely high interest rates? Have you attempted to correct your own credit report? Most fail. Trying to understand how the points and scoring work, and dealing with the red tape of the credit bureaus is an almost impossible task.
The credit bureau's offer the consumer a right to dispute inaccuracies on their credit reports either hand written or via the internet. But, if an account or accounts are changed…how does this reflect on their score? How many consumers understand what it takes to qualify for a mortgage or a car loan? How many consumers believe that the Internet model scoring is the same as the banking tri-merge scoring? Not to mention the scoring is still different in the auto industry.
We, the consumers are victims of inaccurate credit reporting and yet, without the knowledge of how the scoring works, and the consumer laws that protect us, we are totally at a loss.
